pretty awesome weekend overall. hhad so much to eat i can't believe i'm still standing. went to tanner's 10 year on friday. 2 reunions in 2 years is tough on the brain. back at work and having a ball. tons of stuff to get done before year end. wish were were starting the photoshoot sooner, but it'll get done. no idea what i want for Christmas, but what's new? we had a united way collection at work and i asked shepard if he'd donate a couple small posters as an incentive and he ended up sending a bunch of big obey faces! pretty much ruled and everyone here was so amazed and happy. tis the season right?

SS Decontrol

i think one of the funniest parts of the movie when they were talking about Jamie Sciarappa from SSD trying to figure out an amp and he was using his guitar like a hockey stick. he was totally bruins obsessed. they all were. like crazy fight frenzied southies. good flick overall though. didn't make me miss the pit too much, but it gave me an even greater level of love for the DC scene. i do miss the wonder of discovering new bands and knowing all the peeps at all the shows. like having to chase a show because it kept getting shut down and ending up in an abandoned train switchouse to see 8 bands that probably were formed and died overnight. i remember there was this huge RESURECT EAZY E mural right across the tracks and all these crack heads roaming around trying to figure out where the awful noise was coming from. someones car would get broken into everytime. there was Chamber of Sound for a while, but then the owner got fed up and torched the place for insurance. crazy.

so tanner and i went over to a salvage company to buy a bathtub. why would we go to a salvage comp. for that you ask? they are selling the clawfoot tubs from the Lorraine Hotel, or the Divine Lorraine Hotel actually. Having been a glorified homeless shelter for the last 10 years or so they are turning it into condos and stripping everything out of it. Thus their loss = our gain. Woo hoo. Going next week to shoot tons of pics in it.

Reading The Great Shark Hunt right now. so good for A.D.D. readers. non-stop chaos and loathing. the stories about HST and Ralph Steadman are hilarious! HST would just mace people to make the situation volitile. there won't be a person able to survive in the functioning world like that ever again. everyone's wound too tight now. he'd be thrown in jail in a hot second never to return. people need to ease up, learn that not everything devious is done with hostile intent. breaking and entering just for the sake of exporing should be a get out of jail free card. i think i'm going to start poking around in some of the abandoned warehouses here. anyone wanna join me. safety in numbers folks.

so we went to see lady sovereign last night at the starlight ballroom. starlight ballroom = big back room of chinese restaurant. they had high life so it was cool. she rocked, even though there were maybe only like a couple hundred cats there at the peak. good mix. almost got punched by a big hipster girl. she thought it wasn't too cool that i jumped off stage during a sex pistols cover. she should go cry at a fugazi hugathon. here are the pics.
